Chapter 2: One stupid wish and we ended up where!?

As Emiko slowly came to she sat up, rubbing her face with her hands. "Ugh... that was a strange dream..." She muttered to herself.

"Really? What was it about?" Emiko recognized the voice of her best friend question.

"I dreamed that we somehow ended up in that anime that your obsessed with. Crazy right?" She laughed to herself but was caught off guard by what her friend said next.

"Um Emiko... that really did happen." At that Emiko's eyes snapped open. She looked around herself only to find herself in an office, sitting on the ground with Koromaru and Todd curled up at her sides. Misaki was sitting close to her in a chair. Sitting behind a wooden desk sat an old man wearing a strange red and white outfit. Next to the desk stood the man with silver gravity defying hair, Kakashi was his name if she remembered right.

Man she really wanted to poke that hair of his. 'Seriously how the hell dose he get his hair to do that? Wait I'm getting distracted...' Emiko groaned and fell back on the floor. "Oh Kami just kill me now. This is all because of those stupid wish's isn't it!?" She huffed as she looked at Misaki annoyed. "You just had to go wish for us to do on crazy adventures didn't you? Then I had to open my big mouth and wish to find the place we belong. Just freaking kill me now!"

"Well I see you are finally awake." The old man smiled kindly down at her over his desk.

"Nice way to change the subject old man." Emiko muttered with a poker face.

"I am the third Hokage." He introduced himself. And of course she was completely ignored. Typical.

"What's a Hokage?" Emiko asked confused.

"Emiko!" Misaki yelled at the blonde causing her to flinch.

"What?!? It's just a freaking question!" She yelled back throwing her hands up.

"Now, now, it's quite all right." The old man said in a calming tone before he spent about the next ten minuets or so as to explain what the concept of a Hokage was. "Dose that answer your question?" He asked Emiko who nodded in response.

“Yeah I guess it dose..." She trailed off a little confused.

"Well now that I answered your question would you mind answering a few of mine?" He asked, his face becoming serious. The girls, noticing the change in the atmosphere of the room, both nodded.

"Well first: would you both tell me your names please."

"My name is Misaki Koda." She responded bowing as she did so.

"Emiko Kurusu." Emiko stated plainly.

"A Koda and a Kurusu?" The Hokage mumbled to himself "I knew there was rumored to be survivors but I didn't think that it was true..."

"Huh? Survivors? What are you talking about?" Emiko asked confused. As the Hokage look at both girls confused faces realization donned on him and he shook his head.

"It is nothing. Forget I said anything." He told them. When Emiko went to question him, he cut her off by asking the next question. "What village are both of you from?"

Both girls froze looking at each other before looking back at the old man. "Well you see....." Misaki trailed off as she tried to think of something to say.

"It's not really a village, it's more like a city." Emiko shrugged as she answered as honestly.

"A city?" The Hokage asked confused. But decided to move on to the next question. "How did you both end up in front of the Konohagakure gates?”

"Eh? Um actually I'm not really all that sure?" Emiko said as she tried to think back on what happened.

"Your not sure?" The Hokage asked.

"Well one minuet were in front of the orphanage and next we both woke up in front of the gates. It's actually really confusing when I try to think back on it..." Misaki answered.

"Orphanage?"

"Mhmm... You see Emiko and I are orphans." Misaki said quietly.

"Our family's abandoned us. Just like everyone else around us did." Emiko stated bitterly as she glared at the wall on the right of her. The Hokage shared a look with Kakashi before he turned back to look at the girls with a sad smile.

"Are you sure they abandoned you? Have you ever thought that maybe they had a reason?"

"What other reason could they have other than not wanting us as their burden!" Emiko growled as her head snapped in the direction of the old man.

"Emiko..." Misaki whispered sadly.

Hate. Pain. Loneliness. Sorrow. All of those emotions evident in her deep brown eyes as she held her stare with the Hokage.

"I'm sorry." Emiko stiffened. Her eyes widened in shock. Never once had anyone ever apologized to them.

Emiko quickly looked away from him "Jeez, what are you apologizing for? It's not like it's your fault..." She mumbled the last part as she brought her knees up to her chest ans she hugged them close.

The Hokage gave her a tender smile before he asked his next question. "Well Emiko, Misaki, would you both be willing to stay in Konoha?" Misaki's jaw, literally, hit the ground. Emiko just stare at him with shocked eyes before she turned to look at her best friend. She could tell just how hard it was for Misaki not to start jumping around the room, squealing like a fan-girl.

"YES-!"Misaki quickly slapped her hands over her mouth "I mean yes please! Thank you!" Emiko couldn't help but laugh at her blue eyed friend.

"Wonderful!" The Hokage smiled at them. "I'll have an apartment set up for the both of for the time being. Is that alright?"

"Yes, thank you so much!" Misaki stood and bowed deeply to the old man. She kicked Emiko, motioning for her to do the same. Emiko grumbled under her breath but did as she was told.

"Well then I'll have Kakashi escort you to your new home. Have a good evening." With that said both girls said their thanks before following Kakashi out of the office and out of the Hokage tower.

As the three walked through the village a sudden thought crossed Emiko's mind. "Uh, hey?"

"Hmm?" Misaki mused.

"How exactly did I get to the Hokage's office? And now that I think about it; Why the hell dose my head hurt? It feels like someone rammed my head into a wall." Emiko thought as she placed a hand on top of her head while Misaki suddenly let out a nerves laugh.

"Well, uh, you see since you passed out I decided to carry after Kakashi to the Hokage's office and well on the way there we kinda ran into a poll."

"WHAT!?! How the hell do you run into a poll!?!?" Emiko yelled, receiving strange looks from the people walking past them, while Misaki sweat-dropped. "Wait don't tell me," Emiko deadpanned "you were to busy fangirling in your mind to pay attention to your surroundings weren't you." As if to confirm her statement, Misaki let out a nerves laugh as she rubbed the back of her head.

Emiko sighed and decided to ignore her for the rest of the walk to their new apartment. That's when she realized that Kakashi had been strangely quiet this entire time. When She looked over his shoulder to see what he was doing, she noticed he was reading a strange looking book. "Icha Icha Paradise?" She rose any eyebrow at the name before deciding to start reading as he turned to a new page since it would take him a minuet to finish.

As her eyes followed the text, they widened as her face turned as red as a tomato. "OK I'm scarred for life." She stated as she moved away from Kakashi, who just looked at her and raised his eyebrow in silent question. "Pervert." She stated simply before looking away from him though Kakashi only chuckled in response. "He acts as if he's used to being called a pervert! Ugh what ever..." Emiko sighed.

The Next morning Emiko was awaken by an annoying knocking sound at the front door. She pulled her pillow over her head in hopes of silencing the sound but to no avail. When she finally realized that the person knocking at the door wasn't going to stop until someone opened the door she finally got up. She mumbled a few cruses under her breath as she walked to the door before opening it. "What the hell do you want!" She growled before she froze as she looked up at none other that Kakashi who gave her a closed eye smile. Well she thinks it's a smile. Hard to tell with his mask on.

"Ah, good morning Emiko. I hope you and Misaki are read to go?"

"Go where?" She questioned annoyed.

"The Academy of course."

"Were going to the Ninja Academy!?!" Emiko jumped, yelping at the sudden appearance of her red haired friend.

"M-Misaki!? When did you get there,wait, when did you even get up?" Emiko asked as she placed a hand over her pounding heart.

"I've been up for the past half hour or so." Misaki smiled.

Emiko's eye twitched. She refrained herself from trying to strangle her closest friend. She took in a deep breath before turning back to Kakashi while Misaki asked him an interesting question. "Wait, why are we going to the Academy?" She asked with a tilt of her head.

"To become ninja's. The Hokage ordered it." He said, giving them a closed-eye smile that seemed to set off Misaki's fangiling. Once she stopped squealing and blushing like a school girl- wait, she is a school girl. Facepalm. Anyway back to the story line....

"The Hokage want's us, two strange girls he's never met before and know's that they are not from here, to become ninja's of this village? Dosen't that seem a bit strange to you?" Emiko questioned skeptically.

"Nope. Not at all." He said cheerfully, still smiling. Damn him and his masked smiling face. And gravity defying hair. Damn it! The urge to poke his hair was getting stronger.

"But I don't want to become a ninja." Emiko stated with a poker face.

"You make a compelling argument Emiko." "Thank you Emiko!"(Just in case your confused here. Emiko's having an inner-argument with herself )

"Uh... Emiko? Are you OK? You know if we become ninja's-"

"I'll get to kick some serious ass."

"Uh... yeah?"

"Fuck it. Lets do this!" Emiko stated as she went back to her room to get changed. Misaki and Kakashi looked at each other, shrugged, and with that Misaki also left to get dressed.
